On April 2, 2008 Microsoft launched a new update to the latest Windows Mobile operating system. And this update - Windows Mobile 6.1 - Microsoft aims to improve one area that Microsoft is behind competitors RIM Blackberry OS, Symbian, and iPhone OS, namely: a user-friendly. And like the neck-and-neck competition between all the phone OS maker, Microsoft (which is now topping the phone only supports Palm OS) needs to do everything in their power to keep customers happy and woo the phone to another phone through their communities.

More simple in design with Windows Mobile 6.1, and less cluttered, more job-oriented screen, after the successful model of Windows Media Center. Among the improvements are:


  • more readable font;

  • threading SMS and email messages (very similar to the iPhone), rather than display them all on one screen;

  • cut-and-set of non-touch screen smartphones (on Windows Mobile smartphone with a touch screen, cut-and-ready to work);

  • New Vista like interface to the Home screen that uses tiles that extend horizontally when clicked to reveal more information;

  • volunteer work that uses the CPU manager mentioned Displays the total process as a whole;

  • the ability to change the Master Code Security;

  • Published in the latest program from the Start menu button;

  • total transport back to the system web browser, and show that seemed more like Internet Explorer or other Web browsers PC, with all the web pages for viewing on screen or in a single segment and by the enlargement of the areas selected users;

  • auto-complete email address entered in the To: field;

  • Exchange ActiveSync email auto-configuration;

  • Wi-Fi status indicators.



Business users also enjoy the ability to register a domain name in Settings, to allow the phone to various corporate resources.

On the negative, the Windows Mobile 6.1 (if you go before it) can be used only with a keyboard or stylus - even the Windows Mobile touch screen phone. Microsoft still hasn t made so that people can use their phone screens for OS kuligusa their fingers alone (although it seems that Apple has mastered).

Current users of some Windows Mobile 6 smartphone - like AT & T Tilt and HTC Mogul - they can increase the mobile OS to Windows Mobile 6.1. One of the first of the new smartphone already matter and Windows Mobile 6.1 is a WiFi-enabled Motorola Q9.
